Carter Cook, LPC-MHSP/A

Carter (he/him) is an Associate Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation (LPC/MHSP-A). Carter graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Social Work in 2021 and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2024.

As an outpatient therapist, Carter enjoys working with clients with self-esteem and identity-related concerns, adjustment disorders (including grief counseling, life transitions, relationship difficulties, and career-related concerns), stress management, and mood disorders (depression, anxiety, bipolar, etc.). Carter is passionate about supporting individuals exploring their authentic selves and building lives that align with their values.

As a counselor, Carter strives to create a therapeutic relationship that is genuine, collaborative, and affirming. He values meeting clients where they are while helping them develop insight, strengthen emotional regulation skills, and move toward meaningful change. Humor, curiosity, and authenticity are welcome parts of the counseling process.

Carter’s approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. Drawing from mindfulness-based practices, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other evidence-based approaches, he works collaboratively with clients to support growth, resilience, and lasting change.
