Eden Butler, LPC-MHSP
Eden Butler is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Mental Health Service Provider in Tennessee and holds telehealth certification to practice as a Mental Health Counselor in Florida. She is also a Certified Personality Disorder Treatment Provider, with a particular clinical focus on personality disorders—especially Borderline Personality Disorder—as well as mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders.
Eden earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2014. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2017. During her graduate training, Eden began her clinical work in correctional settings, providing substance use treatment for incarcerated women. Following graduation, Eden continued working in Florida as a group therapist serving individuals experiencing homelessness and addiction. In 2019, she returned to Knoxville and held clinical roles in both substance abuse rehabilitation and psychiatric residential care before joining the team at KMWC in 2021, where she continues her passion for helping clients feel seen, supported, and empowered in their healing journey.
Eden’s therapeutic style is relaxed, authentic, and intentionally unstructured, allowing clients to lead sessions in a way that feels most meaningful to them. She strives to create a safe, collaborative space that promotes deep exploration and an equal therapeutic relationship. Her approach is eclectic, drawing primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) principles. Note: Eden is not a certified DBT therapist and does not offer formal DBT programs, but she incorporates DBT-informed concepts and skills into her practice.
