Therapists

Winston Turner, Intern
Winston is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Graduate student at Lincoln Memorial University on the Licensed Professional Counseling track interning under supervision of Eden Butler (LPC-MHSP). He’s been a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for almost five years after graduating from the University of Tennessee in 2020 with his bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation. Since then, he has worked in settings such as a drug rehab, Applied Behavioral Analysis, and In-patient Behavioral Health.
He has experience with many populations and especially enjoys working with neurodiverse clients, those with any sort of disability, brain injuries/concussions, addictions (including technology), and anyone that feels life has put them on the back burner.
Although not certified, he pulls from theories such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to shape a flexible and client centered approach.
Winston understands the importance of quality of life and adaptability within systems or, when needed, the seriousness for voicing change in neglectful or oppressive systems. The goal is to feel heard, validated, empowered, and valued while navigating your growth on your mindful life journey.
