Leslie Pignataro,
Clinical Director and LCSW
Leslie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker credentialed by the Tennessee Social Work Board. She earned her Master of Social Work with a clinical focus from the University of Tennessee in 2016. During her graduate studies, Leslie began working at a residential treatment facility for adolescents, where she gained valuable experience addressing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, addiction, and psychosis.
After completing her degree, Leslie continued at the facility as a full-time therapist, providing individual, family, and group therapy. She later transitioned into leadership roles, first managing the clinical department and then serving as program director, where she helped design and launch a new program for a younger population. She also has experience working in inpatient settings, providing therapeutic support to adult and geriatric clients. Leslie became part of the Knoxville Mindful Wellness Center team in 2022 and has enjoyed supporting clients while continuing to grow in her clinical work within the outpatient setting.
Leslie takes a client-centered approach to therapy, believing that the most meaningful progress happens when clients are actively involved in shaping their own healing journey. She is passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges and helping them develop the tools needed to grow, recover, and thrive. Drawing from a range of evidence-based practices—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)—Leslie tailors each treatment plan to align with her clients’ unique needs, goals, and preferences.
