Desirae Gammichia, LMSW

Desirae is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who earned her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee in 2023. She works with children as young as 3, along with teens, adults, and families, and has a special passion for helping kids feel understood and supported as they grow.

Desirae specializes in anxiety and depression, emotional regulation, trauma, and adjustment to life changes. She also has experience supporting clients with OCD and Bipolar Disorder. Whether she is working one-on-one with a child, guiding a family through a difficult season, or helping an adult manage overwhelming emotions, she believes therapy should be a supportive space where every client feels heard, understood, and accepted for who they are.

Her approach is client-centered, meeting each person where they are and working collaboratively to identify goals and build skills that support meaningful change. She draws heavily on DBT, along with CBT and ACT, and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) to deepen her work with children and teens who have experienced trauma. Desirae loves this work because of the therapeutic relationship that is built and the chance to see her clients achieve their goals and become their best selves.
